About Ronny Hart
I was interested in drawing from a very early age. I would flatten paper sacks and draw on them on the kitchen floor. In school; art, science and math were my favorite subjects. I saved my allowance to buy a book on perspective drawing when I was in the fifth grade. When given the opportunity to take an art class in junior high school, I already knew most of what they were teaching. In high school I enrolled in a drafting class. I loved it. I took 3 years of drafting in high school. The third year was architectural drafting. I graduated from Permian High School, in Odessa, Texas, in 1967.
I then went to the University of Texas. I had to either go to collage or be drafted and go to Vietnam. I majored in Architecture because I didn’t think I could make a living if I majored in Art. After two years of study, I left school to support my new family and began a career as an architectural draftsman.
I have spent the last 40 years as an architectural draftsman that also does architectural renderings. I learned to do it all on computers when they came along. I found that I have a real affinity for computers and became a CAD (Computer Aided Design) expert. I have been working as an independent CAD consultant doing drawings and renderings for architects and designers for the last 15 years.
I have recently picked up my pencil again. The works that I am showing here are my humble attempts to again experience the magic that I felt when the lines I put on the paper sacks on the kitchen floor actually looked like something.
